COPAXONE® is a prescription medicine used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease in adults.

It is important to note that COPAXONE should not be used if you are allergic to glatiramer acetate or mannitol. Serious side effects may occur immediately after or within minutes of injection. If you experience symptoms such as flushing, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, difficulty breathing, throat tightness, swelling, rash, hives, or itching, contact your doctor immediately. Do not administer further injections until advised by a healthcare professional.

Chest pain may occur as part of an immediate post-injection reaction or separately. This type of chest pain typically lasts for a few minutes and can arise approximately one month after initiating treatment with COPAXONE. Promptly notify your doctor if you experience chest pain while using COPAXONE.

There is a risk of damage to the fatty tissue beneath the skin's surface (lipoatrophy) and, in rare cases, necrosis (death of skin tissue) when using COPAXONE. Following your doctor's instructions regarding the use of COPAXONE and rotating injection areas can decrease the likelihood of these issues.

Liver problems, including liver failure, are possible with COPAXONE. Seek medical attention right away if you experience symptoms such as nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue, dark colored urine, pale stools, yellowing of the skin or eyes, increased bleeding, confusion, or drowsiness.

The most common side effects associated with COPAXONE include redness, pain, swelling, itching, or lumps at the injection site; rash; shortness of breath; flushing; and chest pain. If you have any bothersome side effects or those that do not resolve, inform your doctor.
